Macon-An Impact

It's not just a movement, it's a lifestyle

Just 24.6 of Macon-Bibb County residents earn a Bachelor's degree or higher. MACONIT aims to change that, but the organization needs your help.

MACONIT wants to encourage more students to get TO college and to get THROUGH college.

MACONIT provides support for college-bound high school students and current college students by helping to create a sense of community while also exposing our students to positive role models who will help them gain the knowledge and skills needed to make it through college successfully.

MACONIT especially needs support for its annual Summer Success luncheon ceremony exposing aspiring and current college students to the first-person experiences of their high-achieving peers.

Where your donation goes...

All donations go to the operations of the MaconIt organization. This includes supplies and materials used for the annual MaconIt events such as the "MaconIt Success Ceremony" and the "High School Tour."

MaconIt would like to expand its impact by supporting students while they are at their institutions by sending them encouraging letters and care packages. Our vision is also to host workshops and seminars for the students in the Macon-Bibb community.

Hear from us

"THE ACTIVISM WAS VERY EVIDENT..."

Parent Testimony:

"I saw students from all schools in Macon who had gone off to college coming back for this. That impressed me. The rivalries were no longer an issue. They were all in college and they found that in common. They all wanted to come back and make a difference. So, the activism was very evident. The naiveté was gone." -- Dr. Morris Reese, Morehouse College '84

College Student Testimony:

"I like the fact that we have so many collegiate youth who are able to showcase some of the great things that they have done, as well as their willingness to be vulnerable and talking about the difficulties of growing up and how to overcome some of these challenges." - Marcus Hill, UGA'17
