MEET MAYAH WILLIAMS
WHAT WE DO
MaconIt partners with local schools and community organizations to host college fairs by current students.
MaconIt spearheads community outreach efforts with youth and young adults to discuss the importance of education and service.
Mayah Williams, a 2013 graduate of Howard High School and 2017 graduate of Spelman College, started MaconIt as a way to highlight the achievements of students who had graduated from Macon-Bibb area high schools and pursued higher education at a college or university.
Driven by the desire to serve as both an advocate and role model for high school students, she and her fellow classmates, rallied together to help strengthen community ties by working hand-in-hand with Macon youth.
She felt that there was great value in being role models for current high school students; sharing with them what it takes to be successful academically as well as socially. She also wanted students to recognize their full potential and to realize that success in abundance is just as possible for them as it is for the people they look up to. From this passion, MaconIt was born.
Mayah currently attends the University of New Haven, where she is a candidate for a Masters of Arts in Community Psychology while also serving as a Resident Director for two residence halls. She also holds a Bachelors degree in Psychology with a minor in Management and Organization from Spelman College.
MaconIt is committed to helping the community through service projects and outreach activities.
MaconIt brings awareness through social media and community outreach to the social injustices effecting the community and world.
